Name: Aki Shima (pronounced AH-key SHEE-mah)

Breed: Shiba Inu (Red Sesame)

Born: September 18, 1996

Breeder: Innisfree Kennel, Kathleen Kanzler 518-425-3509

I decided to call my pup Aki Shima for 3 reasons:

1. I acquired him in Autumn and his coat is the color of autumn leaves.
2. He has a lovely white stripe down his nose.
3. His breed originates in Japan, so I wanted to give him a Japanese name.
